Telugu superstar Jr NTR is celebrating his 38th birthday on Thursday. The actor on May 11 took to his Twitter to announce that he has been tested positive for COVID-19. However, he asked his fans not to worry and informed them that he along with his family has isolated themselves.

The actor will be next seen in S. S. Rajamouli’s upcoming film RRR (Rise, Revolt, Revenge). In the film, he will play freedom fighter Komaram Bheem, while another southern sensation Ram Charan will portray Alluri Seetharama Raju in the period drama.

The film also marks the Tollywood debut of Bollywood star Alia Bhatt along with Ajay Devgn in lead roles. It is slated to release on October 13, 2021.

Few days back, the actor announced that he will be making his comeback as host with ‘Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu’, the Telugu version of  ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. However, the show’s schedule was reportedly delayed due to the COVID-19 second wave.

In his film career spanning 20 years, Jr. NTR  has worked in over 29 films. He is mostly known for his single-take acting, dialogue delivery, and dancing without rehearsals. He has received two state Nandi Awards, two Filmfare Awards South, and four CineMAA Awards.

He is also known as one of the highest-paid Telugu film actors and was ranked 28th in Forbes India Celebrity 100 list with an annual income of ₹280 million in 2018.

He is the grandson of Telugu actor-politician N. T. Rama Rao.
