Mustafizur Rahman is a Bangladeshi international cricket player. He is a left-arm fast-medium bowler. He was bought by the Delhi Capitals for the season of IPL 2022.

Mustafizur Rahman was born in the small town of Satkhira in Khulna, Bangladesh on September 6, 1995. He was selected for Bangladesh’s under-19 team for the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the UAE, where he took eight wickets.

In 2014, Rahman started his first-class cricket and List-A cricket, representing Khulna division and Abahani Limited. Later, he was selected for Bangladesh A’s tour of the West Indies.

When India toured Bangladesh in June 2015 for one test and three-day internationals, Mustafizur was named to the one-day international squad. The ICC named him the 12th man in the “Team of the Tournament” for the 2016 T20 World Cup.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) awarded Rahman central contracts ahead of the 2018 season. Due to a toe injury, Mustafizur was ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in May 2018.

Rahman was named to Bangladesh’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April 2019. The 26-year-old cricketer was named to Bangladesh’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in September 2021.

Rahman was first bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2016 IPL season, where he took 17 wickets in 16 matches in the game that helped the team to win the title. He was awarded the “Emerging Player of the Tournament”, and became the first overseas player to receive this award. He was retained in the same team in the 2017 IPL season.

He was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for the 2018 IPL tournament. In 2021, the Rajasthan Royals bought Rahman for Rs. 1 crore for the 2021 IPL season. He was picked up by the Delhi Capitals for the 2022 IPL cricket tournament.
