Indian women cricketer Smriti Mandhana on Wednesday became the first player to score 10 consecutive fifties, with her knock of an unbeaten 80 from 64 balls against South Africa. Mandhana is, however, quite used to breaking and making records.

Mandhana, one of India’s top women batsmen, had made quite a few records by the age of 20. She became the second Indian cricketer to feature in a foreign T20 league as well as had a World Cup century to her name by that age, according to Cric Buzz.

Mandhana has scored 2119 runs in 53 ODI matches that include four centuries while tally of 1716 runs in 75 T20I matches include 12 fifties, according to ESPN. She has score 81 runs in two Test matches.

Smriti’s efforts have been duly recognised both in India and abroad. In 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named her as the Best Women’s International Cricketer and the International Cricket Council (ICC) awarded her with the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for the best female cricketer of the year. She was also named the ODI Player of the Year by the ICC at the same time.
