Puerto Rican model Sofia Jirau became the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down Syndrome. The 24-year-old shared the news on social media.
Jirau, posting a black and white picture of herself, wrote, “One day I dreamed of it, I worked for it and today it’s a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret. I am Victoria’s Secret’s first model with Down syndrome! Thank you Victoria’s Secret for seeing me as a model who has #NoLimits and making me part of the inclusive Love Cloud Collection campaign”, and further added, “Inside and out, there are no limits”.

Sofia Jirau expressed her joy and enthusiasm in a social media post, writing, “One day I envisioned it, I worked on it, and today it is a dream come true.” I can now reveal my major secret… “I am the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down syndrome!” she said in Spanish.
Sofia Jirau is one of 17 ladies chosen by Victoria’s Secret for its current campaign. Because it picked people from more inclusive and varied backgrounds, the lingerie brand describes its ad as “first of its type.”

The Puerto Rican model began her modelling career two years ago when she made her debut at the prestigious New York Fashion Week. Sofia Jirau, who operates her own website, talked about how she has always wanted to walk down the runway of one of the world’s most prominent fashion events.
