Sunil Narine is a Trinidadian cricketer who plays internationally for the West Indies. He plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2022 tournament.

Sunil Philip Narine was born in Arima, Trinidad and Tobago, on May 26, 1988. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off-spin bowler who made his ODI debut in December 2011. He has played in almost 300 Twenty20 (T20) matches in franchise leagues all around the world. 

Narine was part of the West Indies squad that toured India in November and December 2011. On December 6, he made his one-day international debut, taking the wickets of Virat Kohli and then Ravichandran Ashwin to help West Indies win by 16 runs.

In June 2012, Narine was named to the West Indies squad for the third and final Test against England. For his performances in 2013, Cricinfo named him to the ODI and T20I XIs of the year, as well as the T20I XI. He topped the ICC Twenty20 bowling rankings with 784 points on March 8, 2014. He was named in both the ICC and Cricinfo World ODI XI for his performances in 2016.

Narine was chosen as one of the ten marquee players for the inaugural Global T20 Canada cricket league in May 2018. He was named the most valuable player in the Indian Premier League in 2018. This was his second MVP title, following his IPL debut season in 2012.

Following being selected for the 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League, he was named to the Dhaka Dynamites squad. Narine performed in his 100th IPL match in March 2019.

He was selected to play in the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament for the Montreal Tigers franchise squad in June 2019. He was appointed to the Trinbago Knight Riders’ 2020 Caribbean Premier League team in July 2020.

He was retained by the Kolkata Knight Riders for the IPL 2022 tournament.
