Every year the month of June is celebrated as the LGBTQIA+ pride month all across the world. The month celebrates dignity and equality and more LGBTQ community people came into the picture.

It all started on June 28, 1969, when homosexual acts were deemed illegal in almost every part of the world. The police raids in Manhattan%u2019s Stonewall Inn, which are regarded as heaven for the queer community. The police officers threatened them, beat the staff, and even line them on the streets and would arrest them.

But something changed on June 28, 1969, and the patrons resisted for the first time. They raise their voice against injustice and even fought back the police. That was the beginning of the new era of revolution when queer supporters joined hands and fought for their community.

 On June 28, 1970, the first parade took place from Stonewall, which marked the first anniversary of the stonewall riots. Hundreds of participated in the pride march and stood up for their rights.

The rainbow colour flag became the symbol of the LGBTQIA+ community and is associated with the diversity in the community. Red stands for life,  orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for magic/art, and violet for spirit.

Apart from the United States, several other countries like United Kingdom, India, Canada, New Zealand, Brazil, and Ireland consider the month of June as Pride month.
