Indian Premier League 2021 is about to begin with eight teams getting on the field to win the high stake T20 cricket league. Amongst the eight teams, Rajasthan Royals will be looking forward to better the table rankings, looking at its last IPL’s performance where the team ended up last in the league table. The team will be seeking to get on the ground and win the upcoming and its second IPL tournament.

They will contest with Punjab Kings in their first match this season on April 12. After Steven Smith got released from the Rajasthan franchise, Sanju Samson has been trusted with the captaincy. Though Steve Smith is out of the Jaipur team, the team will still feature a few big cricketers such as Ben Stokes, David Miller and Jos Buttler. IPL 2020 was not a good season for the team and this season will be a great opportunity to end the team’s IPL title drought since 2008.

The bowling attack of the team has already got a huge blow before the season has started. Jofra Archer, England’s fast bowler, has been ruled out for at least the start of the tournament due to an injury on his right hand. The all-rounder bowler added highly to the bowling attack of Rajasthan Royal and his absence in the start would be a big loss for the team but the team will still pitch in young Indian bowlers like Jaydev Unadkat, Shreyas Gopal, Mayank Markande and Kartik Tyagi to help the team clinch matches through its bowling line up.

Chris Morris, who is the most expensive player of the upcoming season, will give the team’s pace attack a much needed support in the absence of Jofra Archer and also add some big runs in situations of early wickets. Rahul Tewatia, the overnight sensation from the last season will remain with the franchise to score big and take wickets too.

The batting line up of the team has been worrying in the past as the batsmen are not consistent with scoring runs but this season could be different with Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes’ good form and induction of all-rounder Shivam Dube that could change the batting scenario. Sanju Samson, with an added responsibility of captainship will look to put his best foot forward.
