A woman in Bihar’s Patna has gone missing with Rs 39 lakh, which her husband had deposited in her account after selling their ancestral land. According to a report by AajTak, the wife and her neighbour are absconding, leaving only Rs 11 in the account. The police said that the woman was in an extra-marital relationship with the neighbour. The absconding woman, Prabhavati Devi, is mother of two children.

Brijkishore Singh had recently sold his ancestral property to build a house in the city. Singh, a resident of Bihta Kauria, married Prabhavati Devi 14 years ago, a resident of Bindgawa, Bhojpu. Devi was living in rented accommodation in Bihta for the education of her children and Singh was working in a private company in Gujarat.

According to the report, the man recently sold his property at the behest of his wife and deposited Rs 39 lakh in his her account. He left Gujarat and came back to Bihar. When he reached his rented house, he found that his wife was not there. He tried calling her, but her number was switched off. The landlord informed him that Prabhavati had vacated the house at 5 in the morning. Brij Kishore tried to find his wife and finally registered a complaint.

According to the police, Prabhavati was having an affair with the neighbour. She transferred Rs 26 lakh in his account and withdrew the remaining Rs 13 lakh through cheque. The police is investigating the case.
