A 21-year-old woman was shot dead outside her college by a man in Haryana’s Ballabhgarh on Monday. The accused, who has now been arrested, forcibly tried to make the woman sit in his car and shot her when she refused, the victim’s father said, quoted news agency ANI.

The police told ANI that the incident, recorded in a video, took place at noon outside a college in Ballabhgarh, Faridabad district, where the woman had gone to take an examination. Touseef was waiting for the victim, Nikita Tomar, with his friend Rehan in the car for her to come out.

The two accused tried to push the victim into a white-coloured car. In the video, it shows the woman tries to resist the accused’s attempts to shoot her and save herself. The men shot her after she refused to sit in the car.

The woman succumbed to her injuries in a hospital where she was being treated.

The woman’s father said that the accused, Touseef, used to trouble the victim earlier also and they had complained about it, ANI reported.

“There was pressure on her to change her religion and marry,” the father of the victim said ANI reported.

Touseef and Nikita knew each other and he had kidnapped her in 2018 also, NDTV reported quoting Faridabad police officer OP Singh.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said strict action will be taken against the culprit, who has been arrested in the Ballabhgarh incident, ANI reported.
