The oath ceremony of Yogi Adityanath as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is all set to be held at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium today. This will be the second time Yogi Adiyanath will take oath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda and BJP Chief Ministers including Shivraj Singh Chouhan, ML Khattar, Pema Khandu, Biren Singh, Jai Ram Thakur, Biplab Deb, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Basavaraj Bommai, Bhupendra Patel Pushkar Singh Dhami and Pramod Sawant will be present at the event in Lucknow.

In the recently concluded Assembly elections, the BJP retained power in Uttar Pradesh by winning as many as 255 out of 403 constituencies, securing a 41.29 per cent vote share.

The BJP staked claim to form the new government in Uttar Pradesh after Yogi Adityanath was unanimously elected as the leader of BJP’s legislative party on Thursday.

BJP leaders Swatantra Dev Singh, Raghubar Das and others drove to Governor’s house after the legislative party meeting, where Adityanath was elected the leader.

A proposal to this effect was put forward by senior BJP MLA Suresh Khanna, which was approved by all the legislators.

Addressing the legislators, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the BJP has created history by returning to power in the state with a majority.

“This is an endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and guidance, and Yogi Adityanath’s competence. The BJP has brought political stability to UP and given a sense of security to its people,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Adityanath thanked the PM, Home Minister, Raghubar Das and the party leadership for his election as the leader of BJP’s legislative party.

Adityanath also spoke about the achievements of his government in the first term, and attributed its success to the vision of the Prime Minister.
