What is Yuvraj Singh called a legend of
Indian cricket?

The southpaw has gifted Indian cricket fans
some of the most remarkable moments. His six sixes off Stuart Broad in the 2007
T20 World Cup in Durban was an example of his sheer ability to fire with the
bat. In the 2011 World Cup, he shone both with the bat and all. He scored 362
runs and took 15 wickets in the tournament. He was adjudged Man of the
Tournament for his stellar performances. He was later included in ICC’s Team of
the Tournament, and even in the year’s ODI XI.

In fact, Yuvraj was the first cricketer to
score 300 plus runs and take 15 or more wickets in a single edition of the
50-overs World Cup. His 2 for 44 against Australia, which was followed by an
unbeaten 57 runs innings, was a key contribution to India’s title heist.

After the World Cup, Yuvraj Singh was
diagnosed with lung cancer. He eventually recovered from the disease and made a
return to the team next year, but he could never play with the same grandeur.

The Chandigarh-born cricketer represented
India in 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is. He is among the only three Indians
(other being Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly) to score more than 5,000 runs
(8,704 runs) and take 100-plus wickets (111) in ODIs.
