Rajasthan Royals have three batsmen who could feature in the opening slot. While England's Jos Buttler and Indian youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal come in as established openers, the pink brigade's experiment of sending Ben Stokes at the top also worked well last year.

The Wankhede pitch is expected to host a balanced contest between the bat and the ball. Considering Punjab Kings possible opening bowlers - Jhye Richardson and Mohammed Shami - Rajasthan would want to tackle the swing by having a left and right-hand combination. This paves the path for Jos Buttler ( right hander) and one amongst Jaiswal and Stokes (both are left-handed batsmen) to partner him.
