Safa Baig, former cricketer Irfan Pathan's wife, has gone to bat for her husband over the blurred-image fiasco that recently plagued the Pathans.
Baig had blurred her face in an image she posted on her son's Instagram — which she handles — with her son Imran and husband Irfan Pathan. Irfan was mercilessly trolled by fans after his wife blurred her face.
Safa has always opted to hide her face in the past.
Her choice to hide her face, however, drew critics, with many blaming her husband, Irfan, for not letting his wife show herself on social media.

Irfan had put out a strongly worded tweet in reaction to the trolling.
Safa, on the other hand, has defended her husband and has firmly replied to the trolls.
She told TOI, "I had created an Instagram account for Imran and I post stuff there so that he can look back at some lovely memories once he grows up. I handle this account and for this particular photograph, I had blurred my face out of choice. It was completely my decision and Irfan had absolutely nothing to do with it."
“I never thought that posting a harmless family photograph would create a needless controversy like this. I am a very private person and I never like to be the centre of attraction. Even when Irfan gets papped, I immediately move away,” she stated.
Irfan has also responded by saying, "Such trolling has been happening for a while now. Initially, it used to surprise me but now, I am used to it."
He went on to say that such behaviour gives his other followers around the world a "bad impression" of India.
