American Rapper-singer Kanye West is all set to unveil his 10th music album ‘Donda’ at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta during a listening event on Thursday night.

The title of the album is a homage to his mother Donda West, who succumbed to complications post plastic surgery in 2007 at 58. The event in Atlanta is already sold out and will be live-streamed on Apple Music.

Kanye West was born in Atlanta. The rapper-producer gifted 5,000 tickets to faculty, staff and students from a few Atlanta HBCUs, including Morehouse, Morris Brown and the Interdenominational Theological Center, Spelman and Clark Atlanta.

The 22-time Grammy winner revealed in a commercial during the NBA Finals on Tuesday he will be releasing his highly-anticipated album titled ‘Donda’ during the event in Atlanta. The commercial starred US athlete Sha’Carri Richardson and was scored and directed by Kanye West, featuring “No Child Left Behind,” a song from his upcoming album.

‘Donda’ comes after his Grammy-winning gospel-themed album ‘Jesus is King, which was released in 2019’.

Kanye West had announced last year on Twitter that he would release his upcoming album. His fans expected it to be released the same day Taylor Swift’s ‘Folklore’ was released. However, the album launch was postponed. Taylor Swift and Kanye West have been rivals since Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s speech during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards after winning the award for the best female video.

The Atlanta event marks the second listening event that Kanye is planning to unveil his upcoming album in. The rapper-singer-fashion designer debuted his album “The Life of Pablo” during a colossal event and fashion show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, which was attended by his soon-to-be-ex-wife Kim Kardashian West, 50 Cent, Lil Kim, Caitlyn Jenner, A$AP Rocky and 2 Chainz.
