Answer: India

India in January 2021 signed a strategic partnership agreement with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to strengthen cooperation in global energy security, stability and sustainability. India's power ministry said that the agreement will make it easy for both the parties to accommodate an extensive exchange of knowledge and will prove to be a stepping stone towards India becoming a full member of the International Energy Agency.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed in January this year, was inked by the Power Secretary of India Sanjiv Nandan Sahai and IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol.

The statement released by the power ministry at the time of the agreement noted that the International Energy Agency Secretariat will be responsible to look after the implementation of the cooperative activities in India and for facilitating discussion between the IEA members and India.
