Keke Palmer, an actor, singer and television personality, was at the much-hyped Met Gala 2021, one of fashion’s biggest annual events recently. At the Met Gala, Palmer wore an earth-tone body-hugging dress with a train. But more than her dress, Keke Palmer has made the news by revealing one Met Gala’s best-kept secrets — the food. But if you think dear reader that the Met Gala food is something to miss, we’re sorry to disappoint. Sharing pictures of the food served at the event, Keke Palmer tweeted: “This is why they don’t show y’all the food…”
Keke Palmer’s post on Twitter was captioned “The menu chile”. The menu comprised pieces of cucumber, tomato, a darkened leafy vegetable, slightly burnt corn kernels, and a seemingly bland porridge.
Surprised at the food served at such a high-profile event, several fans compared it to the food served at the Fyre Festival.
The Fyre Festival was a luxury music festival that failed in an epic way. Created to promote an app called Fyre which would help book music talent, the festival was supposed to take place in April to May 2017. But problems with food and accommodation in the inaugural weekend forced the festival to close.
One Twitter user was miffed at the absence of protein in the food served at the Met Gala. “Not a single oz. of protein to be seen…smh the longer you look at it the grosser it gets.”
Another Twitter user was inflamed that one had to pay $30,000 to enter an event that served this kind of food, “If I paid 30k and got this on my plate I would demand a refund idk,” the user said. “This is sad, ima get my mama to cook a lil something for them (sic),” said another user.
