He has also been awarded the captaincy of the IPL side Kings XI Punjab. On Thursday, as the Kings XI Punjab faced Royal Challengers Bangalore, KL Rahul added another feather to his cap. He completed 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League. The record was previously held by Sachin Tendulkar, who had reached the milestone in 63 innings in 2013. The record for the fastest 2000 runs in the IPL is held by Rahul's KXIP teammate, Chris Gayle, who achieved the feat in 48 innings.
