KKR vs SRH: Twitter lauds Shubman Gill's match-winning knock
- KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets
- Shubman Gill scored 70 from 62 balls, including five fours and two sixes
- He shared a 92-run stand with Eoin Morgan for the fourth wicket
Shubman Gill showed why he is one of the promising young Indian talents around with a composed 62-ball 70 against Sunrisers Hyderabad to help Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) record their first win of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
The 21-year-old held his nerve as wickets kept tumbling at the other end, with opener Sunil Narine falling departing without scoring in the second over.
Nitish Rana followed next and impressed initially, smashing six boundaries on his way to a quick fire 26 runs from 13 balls, but could not continue his momentum, as he edged a Thangarasu Natarajan delivery to keeper Wriddhiman Saha.
KKR were put under the cosh after skipper Karthik departed without troubling the scoreboard with all-rounder Rashid Khan trapping him on his back foot for an easy LBW decision.
Gill, however, remained unfazed by the prospect of carrying his team through to an impressive victory as he kept the scoreboard ticking with risk-free shots and was well-supported by Eoin Morgan at the other end, as the two put up 92 runs for the fourth wicket.
Gill was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his unbeaten 70 from 62 deliveries, which included five boundaries and two sixes.
