National Tequila Day is celebrated on July 24 across the United States. It is that time of the year when Americans find an excuse to make some blurry memories with shots and lime wedges. However, tequila is much more than just a traditional margarita or Paloma. It is an alcohol spirit that has the ability to make cocktails that are both refreshing and healthy. Here are four cocktails you should try on National Tequila Day:

Tequila Sunrise:

Popularised by the Rolling Stones in 1972, the Tequila Sunrise is made with two ounces of tequila, a splash of orange juice, and a half-ounce of Grenadine. The ingredients give it an aesthetically pleasing radiant sunrise-like colour. Some ice at the top and garnishing with an orange wheel makes your drink just perfect.

White Winter Cosmopolitan with a touch of tequila

Take 30 ml white cranberry juice, 15 ml lime juice, and 15 mL Cointreau and tequila. Mix all of them in a shaker. Ice should fill 3/4 of the shaker. Strain and garnish with lime.

The collins family welcomes tequila. Pour lemon juice, agave nectar and club soda into refreshing tequila collins to brighten up your evening and lighten the mood. 

The Coconut Margarita

Talk tequila and I hear margarita. The coconut margarita is a simple tropical tequila cocktail. The one you can enjoy on a beach in Miami. Add tequila, lime juice, grapefruit juice, coconut milk, and toasted coconut syrup to a shaker with ice. Strain into a highball glass rimmed with salt and cinnamon, and garnish with a grapefruit slice
