Beauty DIYs (Do It Yourself) have been on trend for years now, and in a world full of suggestions of how to keep your skin better with products readily available at home, it is only normal to get tempted and give them a try. • Coconut oil

Coconut oil, especially on oily skin, leads to the clogging of pores because of its thick consistency. This can lead to breakouts and acne. While it is extremely beneficial for your hair or the rest of your body, applying it on the face can backfire.

  • Sugar

Sugar is often hailed as the ultimate natural product to use as a scrub. However, using it on the delicate skin of your face as an exfoliator can be abrasive, leading to micro-tears and redness. Coffee, on the other hand, is a good option to scrub your face with.

  • Body lotion

Body lotion is one of the most common products used on the face when people run out of face creams. However, this too can prove harmful because of its thicker, oilier consistency and has more chemical fragrances than an average face cream. This can result in allergic reactions and breakouts

  • Body wash

Body wash, or body gels are another commonly used product on the face. However, the chemicals used in these are dedicated to the skin of your body and can prove harsh on the face. This, too, may result in allergies and breakouts.

Mayonnaise has its own benefits when it comes to consuming it or using it in your hair pack. It makes your hair healthy. However, using it with face packs is not recommended as mayonnaise is acidic and occlusive, which can again clog your pores and stop the skin from ‘breathing’.
