Dhanteras is a festival that deals with the celebration of wealth and prosperity. Dhanteras marks the first day of the Diwali celebration and is quite popular in India. It is usually observed on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha in Kartik month.

On this day, Goddess Lakshmi and God Kubera are worshiped as both stand for wealth and prosperity. 

According to Hindu Mythology, the day of dhanteras is considered auspicious because on this day Goddess Lakshmi is believed to have emerged from the Samundra Manthan and is believed to bring in good luck, fortune and success.

– Since utensils are regarded as a symbol of prosperity, people can purchase utensils made of brass, copper, or silver and in accordance with the traditions, the utensils should be filled with food or water before entering the house.

– People can purchase the idols of Lakshmi and Ganesh as they are worshiped for prosperity and wealth. However, it is important to keep the idols in the right direction in your house.

– Buying a new phone, laptop, television, microwave, refrigerator, or other pieces of equipment is also considered very auspicious.

– On the day of Dhanteras devotees usually buy gold, silver, utensils, various jewelry, and other auspicious items.
