This is the most important step for everyone, whether you are living in a multistorey apartment. Cracks and leakage spots are common in this season and if not given immediate attention it can lead to tweaking and dampening of roofs and walls.

The best way to prevent these leakages is to invest in waterproof paint and base. If you want to go for a wooden roof and walls, make sure that the wood is high-quality waterproof.

If you are house is new, it might have already been done but if not, it is always a wise investment to get your house especially the rooftop and outer walls waterproofed. This will prevent water and moisture from damaging and cracking your base walls and roofs.

Check electric wirings

Electrical malfunctions are one of the biggest risks in the monsoons and can lead to a massive mishap if not prevented. Any exposed wiring or sockets may lead to a short circuit if comes in contact with water

Make sure that you take care of the basic maintenance and install a voltage regulator, a trip switch, and encase all the open electrical sockets to protect your home during the monsoon season.

Clean carpets regularly

Carpets and rugs gather dust quickly and when the
same dust interacts with the atmosphere, it becomes musty and can cause the carpets to become moist and lead to several fungal and bacterial infections.
