Popular TV actor Sidharth Shukla died on Thursday. He was 40. The ‘Balika Vadhu’ star was taken to the Cooper Hospital in Juhu around 10:20 AM, where he was declared dead. 

“He was brought dead to the hospital. The cause of the death will be known after the post-mortem is conducted… it will take some time,” Cooper Hospital Dean Dr Shailesh Mohite told

Sidharth Shukla is survived by his mother and two sisters. He was the winner of ‘Bigg Boss 13’. Several Bollywood and daily soap stars condoled his death. 

Some reports suggested that a heart attack caused Sidharth Shukla’s sudden death. This has ignited fresh debate on the pulls and pressures of showbiz. However, the cause is not clear yet.

In July, actor Mandira Bedi’s husband Raj Kaushal died due to a heart attack. 

Talking about the probable causes behind heart attacks, Dr Ashish Agarwal, Cardiologist, Aakash Healthcare told india.com, “Though very sad, the actor’s death points at the larger problem of growing heart problems among the youth today. The key reasons are alcohol and smoking put together, irregular sleep, an increasing amount of stress and sedentary lifestyle that promotes less physical activity.”

As per reports, Sidharth was feeling unwell last night and took medicine and went to sleep early.

“In the last two years or so, there has been rising incidence, so much that we have seen heart attacks in the age of 18 and 20 also,” Dr Subhendu Mohanty told the Indian Express.

“All these lifestyle changes are increasing the risk and incidents of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes — we see patients with high cholesterol who are in their 20s or 30s. In fact, the World Economic Forum has projected that 50% of people who die at a young age will die of diabetes and heart disease,” Dr Agarwal further added.
