With ageing, the tissues around your eyes, including some of the muscles supporting your eyelids, weaken. This loss of skin tone allows fat to shift forward into the lower eyelids, making them look puffy and swollen.

All you need is a sound sleep
One of the best treatments for under-eye bags is to watch the way you sleep. Play it safe and add an extra pillow under your head to prevent fluid from accumulating around your eyes.

Limit your alcohol consumption
Alcohol dehydrates your skin. After a few drinks, the thin skin around your eyes can appear dark, red, and puffy. A night of heavy drinking can also make it difficult to sleep, which can make under-eye bags worse. Limit your alcohol intake to just two drinks and drink water before hitting the bed.
Keeping up with hydration

Eat more iron
One common reason for seeing dark eye circles is low iron. An iron deficiency results in our tissues not getting enough oxygen. Some great sources of iron include lentils, seafood, red meat, dried fruits, quinoa etc.
Cold compress to the rescue
Close your eyes and gently cover them with a cold washcloth for about five minutes, several times a day. This can improve circulation and slightly reduce the puffiness.
Take your makeup off before bed
Not only can falling asleep with a full face of foundation and heavy eye makeup lead to breakouts, but it can also result in puffiness. Use micellar water to remove every trace of makeup. Don’t forget to cleanse and moisturise and put on that eye cream before bed.
