Kindness Day is observed the world over on November 13 every year. The history of
the day dates back to the Tokyo conference in 1997 and was introduced in 1998
by the World Kindness Movement. In 2022, the theme of the day was “Be kind
whenever possible”. The day was observed throughout the world and India was no
exception.

Several people express their feelings on social media, their perception of the day and what they intend to do in society at large.

Despite the differences in their manifestations, if there was one common thing, that was the intent to be good and do good. Parveen Kaswan, an Indian forest service (IFS) officer, took to twitter to give the example of a squirrel and highlight the essence of kindness.

Users throughout the internet were found using creative and thought-provoking ways to convey their thoughts on the occasion. Most users remained grateful to all those who helped them at various stages of their lives and took to social media to express gratitude for all of those. Dr Malavika Iyer was one of those.

People of all age groups were found in plenty, trying to express themselves in various ways on the occasion. One such person was Kanak Saxena, a nonagenarian whose expressed her emotions through a placard. As they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words and officialhumansofbombay made it available for all by sharing it on instagram.

Events such as World Kindness Day, Human Rights’ Day (10 December), Health Day ( April 7), Mothers’ Day ( May 11) play a significant role in reminding people of important aspects of their life which they may have forgotten in the routine of their busy life.
