Actor Kangana Ranaut is proud that two Indian sisters Puja and Pratima wore Bindi during their interning at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), wore bindi.
“Anyone with scientific bend of mind will naturally be inclined to Hinduism, so lovely to see virat Hindus that too girls and also wearing bindis as one of the brightest scientists of NASA… devotion is the most profound dimension of intelligence,” she posted on her social media account along with photos of the sisters.
Bindi, a red dot applied between the eyebrows on the forehead, has grown prominence in the fashion world with international attention too . You remember Selena Gomez wearing a huge bindi during her performance at the MTV Movie Awards in 2013 for her single ‘Come and Get It’?

Gwen Stefani popularised bindis in the mid-1990s. In fact, in one of her interviews, she said that she was “just so unbelievably fascinated by Indian culture in particular because Tony Kanal, who was my boyfriend at the time — he’s the bass player for No Doubt — is Indian.”
“I had never, growing up in Anaheim, spent any time with anyone from India, And his mom would come down the stairs ready to go to these Indian parties, all dolled up with the bindi and jewelry and these beautiful fabric dresses.”

Alyssa Milano too opted for a round bindi with a sari while attending the 2005 concert for Bangladesh Revisited. Tennis ace sisters Serena and Venus Williams wore matching bindis with saris during the Bangalore Open in the year 2008.
Nicole Scherzinger wore a bindi while performing the song Jai Ho for the movie Slumdog Millionaire in the year 2013. In an interview, she also said that she feels proud if anybody thinks that she has Indian roots. “If people think I am Indian I am honoured,” said the star.
In one of her Instagram posts during pride week in 2017, Miley Cyrus flaunted a rainbow-colored Bindi and winking at the camera. The caption of her post reads: “Celebrating #Pride w @hot995 in D.C. #AmericaLovesPride ?❤️?❤️?.”
