The BSE Sensex closed just 33.20 points or 0.06% higher
at 55,702.23. Likewise, the NSE Nifty closed just 5.05 points or 0.03% higher
to 16,682.65.

On the sectoral front, power, capital goods and IT
indices rose 1-2% each while realty, FMCG, and pharma indices fell 0.5-1.5%.
BSE midcap and smallcap indices closed marginally lower.

Kotak Mahindra Bank: Shares of the private lender closed
0.94% higher at Rs 1,792.25 after the company reported a 64.5% rise in net
profit to Rs 2,767.4 crore in the March 2022 quarter. Net Interest Income (NII)
in the reported quarter jumped 17.6% to Rs 4,521 crore. Non-interest income
surged 21.4% YoY to Rs 1,826 crore. Net Interest margin (NIM), a key measure of
profitability, stood at 4.78%, up 39 bps from a year-ago period.

Excide Industries: The share price fell 2.59% to close at
Rs 148.35 after the company reported a 17.8% decline in its March 2022 quarter
profit at Rs 271.1 crore compared to Rs 330 crore in the year-ago period.
Revenue surged 16% YoY to Rs 3,408.6 crore compared to Rs 2,939 crore in the
March 2021 quarter.

ABB India: Shares of the heavy electric maker surged 10.21% to close at Rs 2,220.05 after the company reported a 145% YoY rise in net profit to Rs 370
crore in the quarter ended March 2022 on strong topline and operating profit.
Revenue during the March 2022 quarter grew by 21% to Rs 1,968 crore compared to
the year-ago period. The company bagged orders worth Rs 2,291 crore in the
reported quarter, up 25.5% YoY.

Tata Consumer Products: Shares of the Tata Group company
fell 2.99% to close at Rs 779.25 after the company reported a 222% jump in its
consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 239 crore for the quarter ended March
2022, as compared to PAT of Rs 74.35 crore recorded during the same quarter of
fiscal 2021. Sequentially, the profit declined 17.6% from Rs 290 crore achieved
during the December 2021 quarter. Consolidated revenue surged 4.5% to Rs 3,175
crore in March 2022 quarter compared to Rs 3,075 crore during the same period a
year ago.

Morepen Laboratories: The share price fell 11.04% to
close at Rs 42.70 after the company posted a 54% decline in its consolidated
net profit at Rs 12.3 crore in March 2022 quarter from Rs 26.7 crore in March
2021 quarter. Revenue surged 28.5% YoY at Rs 368.3 crore from Rs 286.6 crore.
