Duke of Sussex, Harry, who stepped down from his role as a senior British royal in January 2020, became the first chief impact officer of a San
Francisco based startup that focuses on sharpening and optimising mental fitness of employees through human coaching and computing.

“I
firmly believe that prioritising and focusing on mental fitness help us explore
potential and opportunity that we were unaware of,” said Prince in a blog post
for BetterUp.

As
far as Prince Harry’s role in the company is concerned, he will be responsible
for maximising human potential worldwide, said Alexi Robichaux, CEO of ‘BetterUp’.

About his role as a chief impact officer, Prince Harry said,” Self optimisation is not at all related to or concerns with fixing anything that’s broken but is more oriented towards becoming a better version of yourself.”

“It just makes us ready to handle whatever life throws at us, someone who is ready for the next challenge and can meet setbacks with courage, confidence, and self-awareness,” he added.

Founded in 2013, BetterUp is the global leader in mobile-based coaching, counseling and
mentorship.

According to BetterUp, the
startup’s platform amalgamates the elements of artificial intelligence (AI), behavioral science and
human teaching to enhance personal as well as professional development.

Last month, BetterUp announced it that had raised $125 million in funding at a valuation of
$1.73 billion.

The company’s client list includes NASA, Chevron, Mars, Genentech, Snap, and Warner Media.
