February 14 has more than one meaning. For some, it is a
reminder to celebrate the love one shares with a person, for others, it is just
another day. The moon doesn’t get bigger, winds don’t blow faster, colours don’t
appear brighter. Valentine’s Day only enhances the FOMO singles face, but it’s
time to come out of the pool of sadness and welcome the day of love with a
smile.

Being single doesn’t always mean looking at couples and
feeling sorry for yourself for not having a partner. Here are some simple
things you can do to spend a cheerful Valentine’s Day with yourself:

1.
Pamper yourself at a spa

Take a detox and get rid of the stress your
body holds by treating yourself with a massage. Spend a day at a salon and find
your soul rejuvenated with a day full of relaxation. Step out the spa with a mind free of  tension, filled with only happy thoughts.

2.
Cook a meal

While ordering a pizza or a burger might
seem like the easiest option to spend the Valentine’s Day and wallow in self-pity,
it would be pleasant change to cook yourself a meal of your choosing. Discover
your culinary skills, put on some music and cook a nice, warm delicacy which
you can savour in peace.

3.
Watch a movie

Action, comedy, drama, romance – pick a movie
of your choice, make
some popcorn, grab a glass of Coca Cola and prepare for a long night as you
treat yourself to a cinematic experience right at home.

4.
Take yourself out on a date

Take yourself out on a date, a coffee date, a
muffin date or a heritage tour, whatever floats your boat. A walk in the
streets of your home town, gazing out the window of a coffee shop spinning
dreams in your head, reading a book –do anything that makes you happy.

5.       Dine with friends and family

Your beau is not the only one who care for
you and loves you. Surround yourself with friends and family as they shower you
with oodles of love. Celebrate the bond you share with your close ones for they
will never leave you in times of doubt and sadness.

This Valentine’s Day is not just for couples,
it is for everyone looking for a reason to love themselves.
