The festive season has arrived finally, and despite the pandemic, our love for fashion can never fade away. Whether its a virtual garba performance, or a digital Durga puja pandal hopping, festivities always inspire us to try new styles in any circumstances — be it clothes or hair.

Buns are a tried and tested way of staying in vogue while showing off your earrings and other accessories to the fullest. Even celebrities are often seen up-doing their hair whenever they don a traditional outfit. This is how you can style a bun the celeb-way.

Slick back bun

Let’s start with the more classic ones, which Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma seems to love. You can recreate her style by parting your hair from the centre, and use a fine-toothed brush and a hair serum so that your hair sticks together and there are minimum flyaways.

Accessorise with flowers

You can never go wrong with a ‘Gajra’, a small flower garland worn especially in south India. You can look back at Deepika Padukone from ‘Chennai Express’ to have an idea. However, any flower can be used to make the outfit look better. Pull your hair back to tie in a bun and put the garland around it before securing everything with a bobby pin. You will be good to go.

The messy one

A textured, messy bun not only compliments a number of outfits like anarkalis and lehengas, but also adds volume to it. Twist sections of your hair and secure them in place after tying knots. Then, open these sections to time them all into a messy bun. Spray some sea salt hairspray to add volume and keep it in place.

Style with stray hair

If you have somestray hair framing your face, do not do anything to secure them and just go with that flow. Pull up your hair in a bun and let those stray hair make your style look effortless and casual.

So, instead of toning down your celebrations amid the pandemic, keep the fashionista in you alive and rock these up-dos.
