The adults-only Anantara Veli in the Maldives has a new offer that will allow travelers to use the resort as a personal vacation crash pad for $30,000, reported CNN.

The package will cover two persons using the overwater bungalow at the private-island property for unlimited use over 2021, with airport transfers and breakfast is thrown in for good measure.

Discounts on add-ons will also be available that includes Ayurvedic spa treatments, Maldivian cooking lessons as well as water activities like diving, snorkeling and surfing.

Although the price tag is quite high, it is less than the cost of a permanent vacation home in many other parts of the world.

Officials in Maldives had announced in September this year that a three-tier tourist loyalty program called Maldives Border Miles would debut next year.

Although further information on the duration of the program at a practical level is not revealed yet, there are Gold, Silver and Bronze levels, which will correspond to the amount of money spent in-country and will also come with rewards and perks for frequent visitors.

Maldives was one of the earliest countries to open up its borders amidst the global pandemic, mostly because its economy heavily depends on international tourists. Data from Johns Hopkins University reveal Maldives has had 12,059 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 12 deaths.
