Are you worried about your fitness while working from home? It can present a unique set of challenges, especially when it comes to your health. The abundance of delicious snacks in the kitchen, temptation to work in an ergonomically unsound position, like bed, couch, and lack of social stimulation can not only sabotage our health, but can also make us lethargic, resulting in lower quality of work.

Making healthy choices isn’t always easy. We often find it hard to exercise regularly, or cook healthy meals. However, your efforts will pay off in many ways in the long term. Have you heard about WOFH (Workout From Home)?

You can perform a variety of exercises at home without any equipment. For effective results, combine a healthy diet with your daily fitness regime. The following are some great tips on how you can have an amazing WOFH experience.

Stair walk

Let’s start with something basic. One of the simplest at-home exercises is stair-stepping. Living on a multi-level building is not a priority; you can do this while watching your favourite movie on Netflix. Wondering how? It’s a very simple way that gets your heart rate up, helping you burn calories. The stair-stepping also helps work your calves. You just need a ‘little-higher than ground level’ stool and then pretend as if you are walking stairs.

Jump pump

Skipping or rope jumping is one of the most effective exercises. The only equipment you’ll need is an inexpensive jump rope to get some cardio activity. Mixing jump rope with other exercises is a great way to pump up your cardio routine.

Plank it up

This is a perfect exercise for people looking to build their core. The best part is that it’s free and simple! Planks are basically just a push-up without the movement. Holding a push-up position can help in developing a range of muscles. A little variation can do wonders – you can move your arms closer or further apart to work on different muscles.

Tech-ercise

In a time when everything is available online, why do you need an instructor (we still need to follow social distancing)? All you require is a good internet connection. Go to YouTube and you’ll find a whole world of at-home exercise sessions with some of the top fitness enthusiasts. From dance workouts and specific muscle training, to cardio activities and yoga, you’ll find exactly what you want, or maybe more.

CIY (Clean it yourself)

Cleaning your house is also an exercise. If you are someone who has managed to clean their washroom with perfection would know that it takes a lot to do it. It’s like cardio. Mopping, cleaning tubs, toilets, showers, and washbasin provide repetitive movement that is a good workout. If you don’t feel it’s enough, you still have your rooms, living area, and kitchen to clean.

Keep it in mind:

Don’t sit on your bed while working from home.

30 minutes of regular physical activity is a must

You can’t achieve fitness without a balanced diet

Avoid tobacco

Most importantly, be aware of your mental health
