According to Ayurveda, a certain way of storing water can be highly beneficial to health. Even the shape of the container in which water is stored plays an important role.

The best vessels to store water are earthen and copper pots. Earthen pots have air spaces that will keep the water fresh and cool for hours. They also help in reducing acidity and skin problems. The water stored in an earthen pot improves vitality and strength.

The trace amount of its presence is essential for the regulation of blood pressure. Also, copper is good for people suffering from hypertension, a condition that is also caused by copper deficiency.  While too much copper can cause poisoning, in the right quantities copper helps dissolve excess fat deposition in the human body and helps lose weight. It is, however, not recommended for people with bleeding disorders to use copper vessels.
