The magic spice in our kitchens, turmeric, is proven to help to heal our skin and boost our natural beauty. Even our favourite Bollywood celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anushka Sharma use the good old haldi that has been used since ages by our grandmothers.

Here are some ways in which you can add turmeric in your skincare routine to enhance the health of your skin.

1. Turmeric face packs

Priyanka Chopra recently gave a sneak peek into her home-made face pack that looked quite promising. It had the goodness of chickpea flour, yoghurt, lemon, whole milk, sandalwood powder, and the star ingredient, turmeric.

Apart from this, you can also mix turmeric with the desired amount of lemon juice or honey. Apply the thick paste to your face and rinse it after 15 minutes with warm water.

2. Turmeric in a moisturizer

Adding a little bit of turmeric to your moisturizer will give your skin some extra glow. Its anti-inflammatory properties help reduce blemishes and heal your skin. Its antioxidant compounds fight sunburns and wrinkles, so you can mix it with sunscreen as well.

Turmeric also helps reduce dark circles. Just use the above formula every day and you will notice the changes over time.

3. Turmeric as a lip scrub

Scrubbing your lips is not a bad idea. It eliminates some of the dry, flaking skin that build up over time. You can apply turmeric to your lips by mixing it with milk and making a paste out of it. Just apply the paste for 5 minutes, rinse it and apply your regular lip balm.

You can also mix a pinch of turmeric with your hydrating lip balm for softer lips. This is a great way to get rid of excessively dry and chapped lips in winters.
