However, a new trend has emerged, with some now putting ghee or butter in their black coffee. Yes, you read that correctly.

This high-calorie brew, also known as bulletproof coffee or just bullet coffee, has been steadily growing a loyal fanbase. It is said that it helps attain ketogenesis, which allows the body to burn fats when there is a dearth of carbs.

Bulletproof coffee’s major claim to fame is that by mixing the active components in coffee, butter, or ghee for a supercharged brew, it may boost energy and efficiency.

According to reports, the beverage has acquired appeal, with celebrities like Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez among those who have sampled the drink.

Bulletproof coffee has grown extremely popular among health-conscious millennials who favour a low-carb diet, according to nutritionist Neha Pathania. She was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying, “It improves your mood, and keeps you energetic throughout the day.”

However, other specialists believe that consuming the mixture on a regular basis might do more damage than good. Shalini Garwin Bliss, a dietician, agrees.

She told HT, “Consuming bulletproof coffee frequently may have an adverse effect on one’s health. The concoction is heavy on oil and butter, consuming it frequently will increase one’s intake of saturated fats that can raise cholesterol levels. This, in turn, increases the risk of stroke and heart disease.”
