Goswami, who is a custom house agent living in Kutch, established the ‘Cat Garden’ in 2017. He dedicated the cat house to his late sister who died in 1994.

The Cat Garden has several facilities such as four air conditioners, 16 cottages, 12 beds. Apart from that, there are bathing showers and a mini theatre where the cats watch animal-related shows in the evening.

Goswami told ANI that the cat home was built in the memory of his late sister. The story behind the idea was that once a cat entered their home and ate Goswami’s birthday cake after her death. Since then, the cat has been staying with the family and all the cats that have come to their premises since then are living with family in Cat Garden.

“We celebrate the birthday of my late sister every year. Once a cat entered our house and ate her birthday cake (this was after she had passed away). Since then, it has been staying with us. We believe that it is our sister who is staying with us in the form of the cat,” he said.

“These cats are a part of our family and we make sure to take proper care of them,” Goswami added.
