A gunman was taken into custody after he barricaded himself inside a Greyhound bus in Georgia’s Gwinnett County on Tuesday, shutting down parts of Interstate 85 for hours on Tuesday.

SWAT officers responded to the scene around 10.30 am and surrounded the bus. Following a standoff, the man was arrested. His identity is not known.
“They likely used a flashbang, which SWAT uses to distract somebody when they enter a vehicle or building,” Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Ryan Winderweedle said.

The gunman was being evaluated by Gwinnett fire personnel and was described as having a “behavioral health crisis,” police said.
Investigators were evaluating the bus to ensure that no suspicious packages or materials were left in it,

Authorities had earlier said that 30 passengers and the bus driver were safely evacuated.

Confirming the incident, Greyhound had said in a statement, “We can confirm an incident has occurred on schedule 1076 this morning in Norcross, Georgia headed from Atlanta to New York City. We are working closely with local authorities to ensure the safety of our passengers and driver. We have no further comment at this time.”
All lanes of I-85 SB were blocked at Beaver Ruin Road for hours.
