Every year, August 8 is observed as International Cat day. It is an occasion to celebrate one of the most common pet animals. First observed in 2002, the International Cat Day was announced by the International Fund for Animal Welfare. The day also aims to raise awareness about cats and the different ways in which we can help and protect our feline friends.

Today we bring you a list of signs which indicate that you are a cat person:

1) You love independence: Going by stereotypes, words like independent, inquisitive and adventurous are often used for cats. These carnivores love to stay by themselves and are generally self-reliant, sometimes stubborn. If you have all the traits then you might be attracted to another cat like you.

2) Phone is loaded with cat pictures: By your phone, we mean your Instagram timeline, Facebook pages and WhatsApp groups are overflowing with pictures of cats. Memory’s full and you still cannot delete these pictures? You definitely a cat person.

3) You live by the cat’s rules: If you have already started believing that your cat runs the house, then you are already on the deep side of the pool of cat-lovers. You clean their litter box, plan daily treats and never get tired of being their companion.

4) Love to get love: If a cat chooses your lap or shoulder as their resting spot, it is the highest honor. If you are grateful for your cat sometimes lies on your stomach or plays with you, you are a cat person.

5) Talk to your cat: After a sad day you sit with a glass of wine and chat with your little purr-fect buddy complaining about your boss and partner, you are a cat-person. Cats are genius animals, and they reciprocate in their own way to whatever you say. Even if your cat ignores you, it definitely understands you.
