The story of Kolkata resident Tuktuki Das proves if you are determined, nothing is impossible. After completing her master’s degree, Tuktuki tried to land a job but could not. She eventually decided to open a tea stall at Habra station in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas. Tuktuki’s tea shop ‘MA English Chaiwali’ is now famous across the city.

Let’s hear her inspirational story:

Tuktuki comes from a poor family. Her father is a van driver and her mother runs a small grocery shop. Tuktuki’s parents wanted her to become a teacher. To fulfill her parent’s dream she performed well in her exams, and completed her post-graduation in English literature from Rabindrabharati Open University.

However, even a master’s degree was not enough to land her a job. She then decided to open a tea stall. In this, Tuktuki was inspired by the success  of MBA Chaiwala Prafull Billore and Chaiwali Uppma Virdi from Australia.

She rented a small shop near Habra station and started her  tea stall called ‘MA English Chaiwali’ on November 1, 2021. On opening day, Tuktuki served free tea to her customers.

Initially, Tuktuki’s parents didn’t approve of the idea. Convincing her parents was not easy for her.

Tuktuki’s father Prashanto Das said  he wanted her to become a teacher. But then he reconsidered.
