It was not just an ordinary football match in Major League Soccer (MLS) but a special one. Although the match between Minnesota FC and San Jose Earthquakes ended in a draw, it was Minnesota FC’s player who not only won over the entire stadium, the opposition but also his partner’s hand in marriage. Yes, you read that correctly.

To top off the amazing counter, American football player Hassani Dotson Stephenson proposed to his partner on the football field on Sunday. As he went down on one knee, popped the million-dollar question and waited with bated breath for his partner’s reply, the stadium erupted in joy and cheered his partner on.

Stephenson’s partner Petra Vukovic, clearly emotional, nodded in affirmation as Stephenson put a ring on her finger.

As both of them hugged and kissed, the fans roared in appreciation. The moment was captured on camera and was posted on social media by Stephenson.

“I liked it… So I put a ring on it,” read the football player’s caption of the video and photographs he put up.

Stephenson’s partner Petra Vukovic also posted the pictures from the event on her Instagram profile.

“There aren’t words that express anything close to the happiness my heart feels. To be loved by you is a blessing Hassani. A HUGE thank you for all of the wishes and to everyone who was involved in helping put this beautiful everlasting memory into my life,” she wrote on her Instagram post.
