Many objects in our planet’s deep oceans are still unknown to explorers. Often, the unknown washes up on a beach or is seen on high-tech cameras.

While many of them turn out to be known species, others confound researchers and scientists because of their physical characteristics and appearance.

Something similar was recently caught on camera. A video circulating on social media shows a fisherman running his speed boat at full throttle in a desperate attempt to escape a bizarre sea creature with glowing eyes.

The terrifying sight was captured by an unidentified fisherman off the coast of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. After being shared on Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram, the 47-second video has left netizens baffled. The video’s on-screen text reads, “wanted to attack me.”

The unknown creature, which looks to be skinny, long, and dark, bursts out of the water several times as it follows the speeding fisherman on the boat.

It jumps out of the water approximately ten times while chasing the speed boat. Although this has not been confirmed, the two bright specks in the video look to be its eyes. Many people on social media commented that its eyes were glowing due to light reflection.

It eventually abandons the pursuit after being beaten back by the speedboat’s slipstream.

Many social media users have expressed their shock. However, some speculated that it was most likely a seal. Seals can swim at speeds of up to 35 kilometres per hour. This thing appeared to be travelling more quickly.

Last year, a deep-sea film left viewers perplexed as it revealed an unknown organism altering itself 3,700 feet deep in the ocean.

The video starts with the creature resembling a monster from an old arcade game that players usually shoot. It floated for around 40 seconds before suddenly contracting into a little black ball shape. It opened up and elongated to resemble the top of a lemon squeezer a few seconds later.
