An 8-foot crocodile escaped through a vehicle window while being carried to a zoo in Florida, causing chaos. On February 22, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park was putting crocodiles onto a vehicle to transport them to a new zoo when the horrible occurrence occurred.

Among the reptiles was a 70-kilogram crocodile, which managed to smash the back glass of the vehicle before fleeing. On Facebook, the zoo posted a video of the amazing escape.

“This creature smashed the back glass of the van and dashed down the road.” Our staff responded fast to recover it and securely transport it to its new habitat. “There was never any genuine risk because the animal’s mouth was secured,” the post stated.

Fortunately, the team members reacted fast and were able to capture the reptile on the side of a busy road.

“This is why we have intensive training and drills to prepare for occasions like this,” the statement said.

Jessica Stark shot the video with her phone camera.

It shows one of the zookeepers tying a rope around the angry crocodile’s neck as another leapt onto its back for a hold-down. A third individual quickly entered the fray, assisting others in securing the reptile’s lower back and tail.

Following the event, the zoo stated that the animal posed no serious threat because its mouth was sealed. The incident occurred near the zoo’s entrance, according to The Miami Herald.

“It happened so quickly that I mistook it for a large piece of rubber. It was, in fact, a gator… He was almost to the opposite side! Those gator farmworkers are tough and handled it well,” a Facebook post was cited by the Miami Herald.
