Shaili Chikara is making all the right noises on different social media platforms with her Instagram videos. According to her Instagram bio, she is a certified fitness trainer, the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown or the work from home situation has not been able to stop her from working out. She often posts videos of her working out with the help of everyday items.

In the latest addition, she used a gas cylinder to do squats, and that too in a saree. Wait, what? Yes, you read that right.

Chikara, clad in a red saree, picks up a gas cylinder and does squats with ease. She doesn’t even flinch and it is safe to assume that she didn’t break any sweat while performing it.

This is not the first time that a woman is performing a stunt in a saree, breaking the notion that a woman in a saree can’t perform jobs.

In the month of September, 23-year-old Eshna Kutty danced with a hula hoop while wearing a saree and sneakers. Apart from this, earlier in January, a gymnast from Haryana, shared videos of her doing flips in a saree. It was widely appreciated on social media.

Not only this, Bollywood model Milind Soman‘s mother, too, takes part in everyday exercising and running in a saree. In 2017, Soman’s septuagenarian mother Usha participated with him in a marathon.

A biochemist and former teacher by profession, she ran the marathon in a saree and that too barefoot. According to various media reports, Usha had, a couple of years back, walked 100km in less than 48 hours without any medical help or assistance.
