On World Population Day, Nagaland Minister Temjen Imna Along advised people to make rational decisions about family planning.

After his comments on the advantages of having small eyes went viral on social media platforms, the Nagaland BJP President is now winning hearts on the Internet with his witty take on the country’s population growth.

Temjen Imna Along tweeted, “On the occasion of World Population Day, let us be sensible towards the issues of population growth and inculcate informed choices on childbearing. Or stay single like me and together we can contribute towards a sustainable future. Come join the singles movement today.”

Earlier this week, the Nagaland Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs made headlines for his take on the northeast’s “small eyes.” When asked about how people say northeast Indians have small eyes, he cracked a joke that they do, but their “vision is sharp.”

Temjen Imna Along has also stated that because he has small eyes, he can sleep while watching a long programme.
