Actor Zendaya recently opened up about her time in the entertainment industry and how she had to learn to engage in conversations in order to avoid coming off as cold and mean.

In a recent interview with GQ, Zendaya said that she was reserved as a child, but that has changed over the years. The 24-year-old recalled an instance when her stylist mentioned to her that she “comes off kind of cold. People think you’re mean because you don’t talk,” prompting her to admit that she was just nervous and shy.

According to Zendaya, a card game that she recently played, called ‘We’re Not Really Strangers,’ helped her loosen up. The Emmy-winner said a question that impacted her was, ‘Which random compliment that strangers give you that makes you feel good?’

To this, she replied that it makes her feel special when people say that their kids are inspired by her and that they are proud of her.

She added that such moments make her feel like the fans are her relatives and that she does not want to let anyone down.

Zendaya will be next seen in ‘Marie & Malcolm,’ which released its teaser recently.
