June 14 marks one year of the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The actor was found dead hanging from the ceiling fan at his home in Mumbai last year.

The case was declared as suicide by the Mumbai Police. However, soon after his death, Sushant's father, KK Singh, filed a complaint of abetment to suicide against Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family members in Patna. Rhea was accused of pocketing Rs 15 crore from Sushant's bank account in the complaint filed by Singh.

The SSR case has been nothing but a roller coaster of an emotional series for everyone including his fans, celebrities, and every other person who loved him.

Several well-known Bollywood personalities took to their social media handles to demand justice for the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor with hashtags like #JusticeForSSR, #CBIforSSR

Actors like Varun Dhawan, Sooraj Pancholi, Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Sanjana Sanghi were among those who posted Instagram stories calling for a CBI inquiry into Sushant’s death. Sushant’s former girlfriend, actor Ankita Lokhande, also shared a similar message on Instagram and condoled with his family and friends.

Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also posted an emotional video for actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Kangana Ranaut was constantly supporting Sushant and speaking on nepotism and blaming Bollywood biggies for the actor's death. The 'Queen' actress supported Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti, who made a video appeal to all the fans for a CBI inquiry for her brother.

Sushant's good friend and Bollywood Actor Kriti Sanon took to her Instagram story and wrote, “I pray that the truth comes out SOON...His family, his friends, fans, and all loved ones deserve this closure. I hope and pray that the CBI takes over the case so that it’s investigating without any political agendas, in the TRUE sense, to provide justice to the family!! It's high time his soul rests in peace! #CBIForSSR #SushantSinghRajput."

While many stars came out in support of the late actor, some were even trolled too for allegedly discriminating against Sushant in the film industry as he was an ‘outsider’ .

This was the time hashtags such as #BoycottSalmanKhan, #JusticeForSushantSinghRajput, #BoycottStarKids, and #BoycottBollywood began to trend on Twitter

Salman Khan also tweeted and stressed that the loss of a ‘loved one’ is extremely painful, but his tweet didn’t go well and was slammed for ruining the careers of Vivek Oberoi, Arijit Singh, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan by netizens.

Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt were also heavily criticised for mocking Sushant on the talk show in the past.

Social media users blamed the ‘insider’ culture of Bollywood, of which they believe Alia is a part, of ostracising Sushant. Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, blocked comments on her Instagram profile to protect herself from the abuse. Ankita Lokhande also faced the backlash of the netizens.

A lot of attention was also focused on the nature of the relationship between the late actor and his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and she was one of the most trolled actors in the case.
