According to notifications from Oil Marketing Companies, the petrol and diesel prices have risen after 29 days.
In the national capital, petrol is now priced at Rs 83.97 per litre while the rate for diesel is Rs 74.12 per litre.
The prices of petrol and diesel were last hiked on December 7, after a rise in global oil prices. The rates were the highest witnessed in the country since 2018.
Domestic fuel prices are determined by global crude oil prices. Different states have different prices for petrol and diesel due to the levying of Value Added Tax (VAT).
