The Supreme Court on Friday slammed suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma for her controversial comments against the Prophet and asked her to immediately apologise to the nation. The SC came down heavily on her as the bench refused to entertain her plea for clubbing of FIRs lodged against her in various state. She actually has a loose tongue and has made all kinds of irresponsible statements on TV and set the entire country on fire. Yet, she claims to be a lawyer of 10 years standing... She should have immediately apologised for her comments to the whole country, the court said. Sharma's made the comments during a TV debate earlier this month. The remarks triggered protests across the country and also invited sharp reactions from many Gulf countries. Following this, the BJP suspended her from the party. These remarks are very disturbing and smack of arrogance. What is her business to make such remarks? These remarks have led to unfortunate incidents in the country...These people are not religious. Fears of a Covid-19 breakout at Wimbledon only intensified yesterday with Roberto Bautista Agut's withdrawal. Mozilla’s latest version of its Firefox, its internet browser, should help its users prevent being tracked when they click on links off other websites. The change was spotted earlier this week by Bleeping Computer, a tech website. The new privacy feature is part of the new Firefox update, version 102, which released on Tuesday. The new update disables tracking parameters from websites like Facebook, Olytics, Marketo and HubSpot. Climate technology company Climeworks said that it had broken ground, heralding the beginning of construction on its biggest facility yet to capture carbon dioxide emissions, in an announcement yesterday. The new plant, named Mammoth, will scale up the company’s operations in Hellisheiði, Iceland. Climeworks built Orca there, and was the largest direct air capture plant in the world. It came online last year in September. The Orca plant captures up to 4,000 tons of carbon dioxide a year, the rough equivalent of the pollution 790 gas-powered passenger vehicles release yearly. In comparison, Mammoth can capture about nine times the CO2 more than Orca. Unfortunately, these plants are just two of the few such facilities in the world, not that they have the capacity to make any significant impact on combating climate change emissions, says the International Energy Agency. In order to match growing greenhouse gas emissions, the direct air capture industry has to be able to pull 85 million tons of CO2, by 2030. Fortunately for the Orca and the Mammoth plants, they’re both located within the ON Power Geothermal Park at Hellisheiði. Other such plants are in construction around the world, with one being built in Texas, which is expected to finish construction and be operational in 2025.
