Punjab CM imposes night curfew in the state from Dec 1

- Punjab has reported 617 cases and 12 deaths in the last 24 hours
With COVID-19 cases escalating rapidly in the state of Punjab, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said on Wednesday that a night curfew will be imposed in the state from December 1 to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The night curfew will remain in force from 10 pm to 5 am, the Chief Minister said in a statement.
As the state witnesses a second wave of coronavirus, the CM announced a fresh series of restrictions.
The fine for not wearing masks and flouting social distancing norms has been doubled from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. The operation timings for all hotels, restaurants and marriage places have been restricted till 9:30 pm.
These curbs shall be reviewed on December 15.
Till date, Punjab has reported 1,47,665 COVID-19 cases with 1,36,178 recoveries.There are 6,834 active cases and 4,653 deaths.
