The Apollo Hospitals on Saturday said, superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted due to severe blood pressure fluctuations, was progressing well, PTI reported. His blood pressure is still on the higher side although it is under better control than on Friday, the Hyderabad-based hospital said in its release.
His investigations have not revealed anything alarming so far, it said.
Rajinikanth, the 70-year-old Tamil superstar, will be subjected to further medical examinations on Saturday. The results of those will be available by the evening of the same day.
"Mr Rajinikanth who was admitted in the hospital yesterday is progressing well. He has had an uneventful night and his blood pressure is still on the higher side although under better control than yesterday," it said.
Despite his recovery, he will be under close medical observation. His blood pressure medications have been adjusted. Visitors are not allowed to meet him yet since he has been advised to rest, the hospital said.
Based on his investigations and control of blood pressure, a decision on his discharge would be taken by the evening, the bulletin added.
Rajinikanth was shooting for a movie for the past 10 days but had isolated himself after a few people on set had tested COVID-19 positive. The actor, however, tested negative.
Many people including, the Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, TDP supremo former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and actor-politician Kaman Haasan took to the internet to wish a speedy recovery to the actor on Friday.
Only a few days back, Rajinikanth had announced that he will launch his party and face the polls. His political party in Tamil Nadu will join the race just months before the 2021 Assembly polls. In all probabilities, he will disclose more about his political plans after he recovers.
